I began writing hanfic back in September 2005. I knew absolutely nothing about web hosting or design, and ended up on a crappy Tripod website, with the unimaginative title “Hayley’s Hanfic”. It served me well at the time, as I only had my first story “Someone For Everyone” online, and was able to experiment with a bit of html. It was then I discovered Dreamweaver and after a couple of months of practice, was actually able to put a web page together.

I applied for hosting at aloneinthepretense.org in December 2005, mainly because I was a huge fan of Brittney’s writing and was looking for somewhere I could become more involved in hanfic. Again, I stuck with the very boring title “Hayley’s Hanfic”, which I told myself I would ditch later in the piece when I came up with something better. Alas, this never actually happened, and my site remained with this title, until I purchased my own domain in November 2007.

A friend actually purchased the domain imaginary-love.org for me in October as a late birthday present, as I had told her how I was keen to run my own. It was very sad to leave aloneinthepretense.org, where I made quite a few good friends, but I was excited to find out about how to run a domain!
